Snap crackle and pop

That was the noises my body was making today whilst I was in bed trying to get to sleep. My back was cracking my wrist and legs snapped about with involuntary occasional jerks and the nerves in my legs felt like they were sparking like a popping sensation as thought every part of my legs from my hip down had an internal firework display going off.

Then I woke several times with severe pain in arms and wrists were they had gone dead… Was a great sleep today. Let’s hope tm will bring better sleep, and dreams… Although last night’s hover motorbike races were pretty awesome.

Fitbit stats

Yesterday appears to have been a good day on the Fitbit front. Walking when I can seems to be the only exercise I can do without to much pain after my catalouge of pain killers, so this is how it went down.

Could have had more than 5 active minutes but I’m sure you all know the story of the tortoise and the hare……

I’m hoping I can loose some weight to at being just over 14 1/2 stone. I’m hoping the gabapentin I’ve just been put on doesn’t add to this!

There was a time when I had a nice 30 inch waist and I actually didn’t care who saw my body. There was also a time when I could easily run 10k to though *sigh* but alas after a child and fluctuating weight my oversized waist is like the elastic on those 10 year old knickers/boxers we all have stashed away for those extra comfy moments when we’ve eaten a little too much.

My first post.

So… First blog post ever…

A little daunting to be honest. So here goes….

Im a married 33 year old lesbian, mother to a beautiful very energetic 3 year old girl. And I have an Xbox mad wife. Now here’s the hicup. I have fibromyalgia.

Coping with the daily pains and a toddler can be very difficult I also work nights which I feel is quite an achievement with fibro as I know alot can’t manage this. I love my job my wife works to and we both believe that a child should grow up with respect, pride, dignity and the basic values that if u want to achieve something u work hard to get there! Would it have been easier on the dole? Yes it would an to start with we would have been better off financially but we have a 3 year old who at 23 months was potty trained and by 2 1/2 could copy letters so that they were legable. This in most part, was down to the wonderful day nursery she goes to but me an the wife do try and have a big a part as we can with her learning.

So so back to the fibro. Basically it sucks… Some days I can barely walk and spend most of it in tears other like yesterday I can gather enough energy to do something productive however now im paying for it both mentally and physically. I feel so drained my legs hurt my arms an shoulders hurt but most of all I feel like my chest has been used as a trampoline by a heard of rhinos! On I go tho an I’m currently sat at soft play whilst my daughter runs off some energy. I do cheat and still use her pushchair sometimes it’s easier for shopping heavy bags in one hand an a toddler that constany pulling in the other do not make for very happy arms and shoulders…

Daily pain is a part of my life now and has been for a long time. I’m lucky though, I have a wonderful wife who understands me an the pain I suffer with and an amazing little girl. I have everything I have ever wanted plus fibro.
